Fall brings a lot of happenings to the residents at R.C.C.R.

October 8, 2015 by RCCR

Residents at RCCRAfter a busy summer of Camp, fishing, community days in several towns, road trips, grilling and enjoying nature, fall arrives with more to offer. Olivia hosted a District bocce ball tournament this summer, playing host to hundreds of contestants. May residents from R.C.C.R. participated and did well. Everyone is now looking at Summer Olympic bowling leagues and making plans. Several have bowled for years and it is always anticipated. The weekly dances for area Providers and their residents started up in September in Willmar. This is a chance for people to just get together, dance, form friendships and have refreshments. Usually, the vans are full, heading up to Willmar on Thursday evenings. This offers a wonderful socialization experience for everyone. Weekly participation with Jesus Cares begins again. Zion Lutheran Church in Olivia has a Bible Study, Craft time, socialization time and refreshments for the residents each month, culminating with a Christmas program in December. A Bell Choir is formed within this community outing and presents an outlook for musical ability and fun.

Halloween is fast approaching, so off to the pumpkin patch. Every site decorates pumpkin, gives out special treats and looks to find the best costume. Sites usually host Halloween parties for each other. All in all R.C.C.R. is busy throughout the fall. It is a fun time for both staff and clients. Hickory II welcomed a new client with a cake and ice cream party. Hickory I, II and III are enjoying the mutual benefits of a garden, which was well attended this summer. A few Trees never came out with leaves this summer so planning some new trees for the lawns will be a must for the spring.

Stop by anytime for some apple cider , treats and a nice visit.
